It’s National Recycling Week, and there’s never been a better time to make a difference! At The Square, plenty of your favourite stores offer recycling services, and some even reward you for doing it. From donating clothes and recycling batteries to giving old phones a new life, doing good for the environment has never felt so good. Take a look at just a handful of recycling schemes across our stores here at The Square. 😍🙌

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s is committed to reducing food waste and supporting local communities. Through their partnership with The Prince’s Trust, surplus food from stores is donated to local charities and food banks, ensuring that extra food reaches those who need it most. In addition, many Sainsbury’s stores offer in-store recycling points for items like batteries and vapes, making it easy for customers to dispose of these responsibly. 🥖🔋

Ryman

Ryman makes it easy to recycle ink cartridges and batteries responsibly. Bring your used items to your local store and, if you’re signed up to Ryman Rewards, you’ll earn £1 in reward points for each recycled ink cartridge. Through their Recycle Club Ink Services, recycled cartridges are remanufactured, producing up to 60% less CO₂ than new ones. With so few cartridges currently recycled, every contribution counts! Recycling your old phone is simple with O2 Recycle, and you don’t even need to be an O2 customer. Since launching, O2 has paid out over £230 million to people recycling their devices. You can get a competitive price for your old phone, even if it’s damaged. Payments can be made directly to your bank account, by cheque, or credited to your O2 phone bill. O2 also has a zero-landfill policy, so most phones are reused, repaired, or recycled for parts. By recycling your device and packaging responsibly, you’re helping to protect the environment while giving your old phone a new life. 📱♻
