The first phase of The Square’s extensive refurbishment works is now completed with the installation of a stunning glass sculpture in Main Square in the centre of the building. The result is a brand new look for Prince of Wales Walk, The Square, and Cambridge Walk. Grace Reynolds Walk was completed in 2017.

The new look incorporates new floor tiling, high level and shop-surround finishes, along with new lighting.

Additional public art reflecting Camberley’s surrounding heathland is featured on light boxes throughout the centre.

The refurbishment of Cambridge Square is currently being planned, and Obelisk Way should follow-on in due course once the wider development proposals for the area behind have been completed.

Karen Whelan, Chief Executive, Surrey Heath Borough Council said, “We embarked on the refurbishment of The Square very soon after the council purchased the centre in 2016. The building had very little investment for several years and was in need of a refresh. We wanted a modern, bright contemporary design, which we feel we have achieved. The centre looks superb today and I’d like to thank everyone who has worked on this project and the retailers and management team at The Square for their continued support.”
