Transformation works continue
Work is now well underway on the next phase of The Square Camberley’s transformational refurbishment programme. The old finishes surrounding the shops on Prince of Wales Walk, Cambridge Walk, and The Square are being removed and will be replaced soon. New lighting is being installed, and later this year the new floor tiles will begin to be laid.
The central square, will be given a spectacular make-over, and will include a new lighting feature, plus a new seating area.
The core of the works will take place outside trading hours to ensure there is no disruption to our shops or customers.
Karen Whelan, CEO Surrey Heath Borough Council said; “It is great to see the refurbishment work really starting to make an impact in The Square. The exceptional new lighting features and the refreshing new light tones of the flooring and décor mean The Square is becoming a much lighter brighter place to visit, shop and enjoy.
The re-routing of the cabling is now complete, which means we are able to move forwards with the fascia works just above the shop fronts. The columns between each shop are being prepared for the new tiling to be fixed on.
There is a small test section above O2 showing the type of finish for parts of The Square, and you can see some of the new fascia panels on Cambridge Walk.
The old tReds shop is being taken by Jack Wills, who will be adding their own quirky design to enhance the refurbishment of The Square.
